The ANKA 3, an advanced unmanned combat aircraft developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI), has successfully completed its first flight with ammunition on board. This marks a significant achievement in the aircraft’s development, demonstrating its capability to carry and operate weapons during flight. The test involved loading ammunition onto the external station under the wing, and ANKA 3 completed the flight without any issues.
ANKA 3, distinguished by its flying wing design, can remain airborne for up to 10 hours. It features high speed, a low radar signature, and advanced artificial intelligence systems, making it a formidable platform for a wide range of military missions. With a payload capacity of 1200 kilograms, ANKA 3 offers both internal and external weapon carrying capabilities, providing flexibility in its operational use.
The successful armed flight test demonstrates ANKA 3’s ability to conduct not only surveillance and intelligence gathering but also precise attack missions. Designed to undertake various missions in different combat scenarios, ANKA 3 can evade enemy air defense systems due to its low radar signature and high speed. It is particularly effective in attacking strategic targets such as ammunition depots, enemy radars, and missile batteries.
ANKA 3’s stealth capabilities make it an ideal platform for covert operations, allowing it to infiltrate enemy airspace and deliver precision strikes against critical targets. Its versatility in carrying different types of ammunition, including smart bombs, guided missiles, and cruise missiles, enhances its effectiveness in various combat situations.
As the ammunition integration for ANKA 3 is now complete, firing tests are expected to commence soon. These tests will further validate ANKA 3’s capabilities as an effective and flexible attack platform, capable of engaging multiple targets with precision and minimizing collateral damage. ANKA 3 is set to become a key asset in Turkey’s defense strategy, particularly in naval anti-ship operations and other high-priority military missions.
